If you have found yourself asking: "Why am I not losing weight?", it may be time to reevaluate your weight loss plan. There may be several contributing factors that are keeping you from losing those pounds. You may have to choose a totally different plan or simply tweak the plan you are currently using. There are a few things you should consider before making any drastic changes... and I've got 4 GREAT tips to help you out:
Tip #1)
First, you must take at look at your weight loss goals and decide if they are REALISTIC. Keep in mind that initial weight is much easier to lose and after awhile the pounds will begin to come off at a slower rate. This is a good thing because when losing weight gradually, you are more likely to keep the weight off for the LONG-TERM.
As your diet progresses you may hit a plateau, where your weight will simply level off for a bit. Stop asking yourself "Why am I not losing weight?", and just stick to your plan and you will start to lose weight again. You also need to be sure that you have designated an ideal goal weight that is realistic. Losing too much weight can be just as damaging to your health as weighing too much!
Tip #2)
Second, be sure that you are actually sticking to the plan that you had set out. As time goes on, we sometimes tend to become too lax on our plan and start skipping our exercise program or have just one little piece of cake which then turns into a large piece next time and so on... We cheat too often on our diet plan and then rhetorically ask "Why am I not losing weight?"
Tip #3)
Creating that perfect environment for yourself will go a long way in helping you stick with your plan. Be sure to get enough SLEEP every night and reduce your stress level because both of these will keep your energy levels up. Also, be careful what you bring into the house, do not have temptations lying around because it will make it harder for you to stick to your plan.
Tip #4)
If you have been sticking with your plan and after a few months are still not seeing your weight come off, it is time to go see your doctor. You may have a medical condition that needs to be addressed before you can have weight loss success. Your doctor can also help you determine what your ideal weight should be and answer your question of "Why am I not losing weight."
Why see an expert?
Because perhaps you are trying to lose weight that your body simply can not afford to lose. If you doctor has determined that you still have more pounds to lose, ask him or her to recommend a Health Nutritionist or Personal Trainer who will be able to help you devise a plan that will work best for you and your BODY TYPE.
